About
Georgia Macmillan is a Dubai based Australian creative who designs fabrics and wallpapers featuring her original watercolour art. Georgia’s style reflects her love for beautiful textiles and colour, a life well-travelled and the unique experience of living in the Middle East.
A trained broadcast news journalist, Georgia returned to her love of art more than a decade ago. It was a career move that was meant to be. Given her mother and maternal-grandmother were both talented artists who not only shared their creative passion, art appreciation and knowledge of colour and form, but also harnessed an early interest in interior decorating and timeless design.
In 2015 Georgia explored the concept of digitally printing her art onto fabric and launched her debut range. The following annual collections reflected a series of special trips immersed in the unique cultures and rich histories of Matera, Prague, Puglia, Oman, Vienna, the Empty Quarter and Capri.
Georgia’s most recent collection is the result of two extraordinary trips to India discovering the incredible world of traditional artisan craftsmanship. The collection has been a year in the making and comprises exquisite embroidered fabrics by artisans in Rajasthan based on Georgia’s watercolour designs. A true celebration of the traditional and contemporary, these fabrics fulfil a dream of creating fine handmade fabrics to be enjoyed in homes around the world.
